I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord.

Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida, diz o Senhor.

He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

Aquele que crê em mim, ainda que morra, viverá.

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

E todo aquele que vive e crê em mim nunca morrerá.

I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

Eu sei que o meu Redentor vive, e que por fim se levantará sobre a terra.

And though this body be destroyed, yet shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself.

E ainda que este corpo seja destruído, todavia verei a Deus, a quem eu mesmo verei.

and mine eyes shall be whole, and not as a stranger.

e os meus olhos o contemplarão, e não os olhos de outrem.

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

Porque nenhum de nós vive para si, e nenhum morre para si.

For if we live, we live unto the Lord.

Porque, se vivemos, vivemos para o Senhor.

If we die, we die unto the Lord.

E, se morremos, morremos para o Senhor.

Whether we live, therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Quer vivamos, quer morramos, somos do Senhor.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, and so saith the Spirit.

Bem-aventurados os mortos que morrem no Senhor, e assim diz o Espírito.

For they rest from their labors.

And we are mortal, formed of the earth,

and under earth shall we return.

For so thou didst ordain when thou createst me, saying,

All go down to the dust, yet even at the grave we make our song.

Acknowledge we humbly beseech thee, a sheep of thine own fold,

a lamb of thine own flock, a sinner of thine own redeeming.

Receive him into the arms of thy mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace,

Recebe-o nos braços da tua misericórdia, no bendito descanso da paz eterna,

and into the glorious company of the saints in life. Amen.
