I'm usually asked to play the girl without the boyfriend,

I mean, I think I knew as a little girl that I wasn't a pretty girl,

But I think as I started to get a bit older, about 11, 12,

I sort of realised that I wasn't a pretty girl.

And so I did, I let my personality overtake, you know,

and so therefore I was the one that would tell the jokes

And I accepted myself and I think I learnt to like myself.

I don't think I ever really disliked myself anyway

But I did, once I started acting, I did accept the way I looked and the way I look.

And I'm also quite pleased with the way I look, even though I'm not pretty and I'm rather odd looking, you know.

But that has helped me in my career.

I mean, for example, recently I experienced, I think for the first time, playing the pretty one.

in the fact that the character was described as the pretty wife, you see.

And I was nicely lit and it was all very pleasant

I just found her extremely dull to do.
