I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord.

Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida, diz o Senhor.

He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

Aquele que crê em mim, ainda que esteja morto, viverá.

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

E todo aquele que vive e crê em mim nunca morrerá.

I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.

Eu sei que meu Redentor vive e que por fim ele se levantará sobre a Terra.

And though this body be destroyed, yet shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself.

E embora este corpo seja destruído, ainda assim verei a Deus, a quem verei por mim mesmo.

and mine eyes shall be whole, and not as a stranger.

e meus olhos serão íntegros, e não como os de um estranho.

For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

Pois nenhum de nós vive para si, e nenhum homem morre para si.

For if we live, we live unto the Lord.

Porque, se vivemos, para o Senhor vivemos.

If we die, we die unto the Lord.

Se morrermos, morreremos para o Senhor.

Whether we live, therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Portanto, quer vivamos, quer morramos, somos do Senhor.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, and so saith the Spirit.

Bem-aventurados os mortos que morrem no Senhor, assim diz o Espírito.

For they rest from their labors.

Pois eles descansam de seus trabalhos.

And we are mortal, formed of the earth,

and under earth shall we return.

e para debaixo da terra retornaremos.

For so thou didst ordain when thou createst me, saying,

saying, dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

dizendo: Tu és pó e ao pó retornarás.

All go down to the dust, yet even at the grave we make our song.

Into thy hands, O merciful Savior, we commend thy servant Leo.

Acknowledge we humbly beseech thee, a sheep of thine own fold,

a lamb of thine own flock, a sinner of thine own redeeming.
